Harman Foundation’s purpose is to create hope and empower lives.
Founded in 2013, we are regarded as the expert support service provider for women and their children seeking refuge from domestic, sexual, and family violence, and for addressing distinctive issues faced by the wider South Asian Communities.
So far, we’ve uplifted the lives of over 2000+ families including 100 women and 22 children through our refuge, HER House.
My baby daughter and I needed desperate help. We felt alone.
Harman Foundation gave me a place to stay, grocery, counselling, and legal help. They also helped me apply for Medicare and Centrelink. Thanks to them, I got into Cert III at TAFE. They arranged childcare for my daughter, so I could focus on my studies. This support has helped me feel more confident and less alone.
I had no home, no support, and no hope.
Harman Foundation provided stable accommodation, helped me access Centrelink and housing support, and connected me with English classes and employment services. I feel stronger, safer, and more hopeful. I am regaining my independence and confidence, knowing I have the support I need to build a better future.
I was kicked out of the house by my husband. I had no place to go. I was roaming around with my suitcases. I was crying and thinking to myself, ‘Where will I go? How will I manage everything?
I came to Harman Foundation’s office with my luggage and was given shelter and food. Harman Foundation came forward to keep me as if god had sent them for me to support me till my last breath.
My husband's verbal, physical, mental and sexual abuse made my life hell. This had a dramatic effect on me, my daughter, our mental health and physical stability in life. Having no family in this country.
Harman Foundation accompanied me to the court and referred me to WDVCAS team which helped me make the right decision. I truly would not have been able to survive that day without their guidance. They helped me open my bank account, lodged my job application and offered counselling sessions to boost my self-confidence and self-worth. They helped me enrol in TAFE and enrolled my daughter in primary school. Now I am learning how to drive. They helped me in so many ways I cannot imagine my life without their support.
